It's too soon to rate them as a winter boot as I've not worn them in cold weather yet. Likewise, it is too early to comment on durability. They are, however, very comfortable, true to size and look stylish. I would have preferred a natural material lining, but the soft outer leather is perfect and the color is great.

The bad: Leather upper tore away from sole on outside of right shoe at less than 1 year after owning. Realfoot confirmed issue was unrepairable. Since I could not afford to replace shoes at the time and continued to wear them, a few months later, at about 1 year of ownership, the stitching came out of the outside seam between the leather upper and sole on the left shoe.

While I know the boots are not waterproof around the tongue, I expect winter boots to be waterproof around the seam between the soles and the leather uppers. They are not.

I treated both boots immediately after unboxing with both the Collonil waterproofing spray and the Collonil conditioner spray Realfoot recommended and occasionally as needed. I also polished them and treated them with tallow as needed as well, so the leather uppers were kept in good condition.

The great: I have gout which occasionally results in inflamed bunions, as well as plantar fasciitis, so the extra-wide toebox and zero-drop heel are just what I wanted to be able to wear boots. The outstanding flexibility of the boots are very comfortable, since the uppers are not too heavily built up. I also like the fact that you can swap out the insoles for thicker ones for extra padding, since I frequently stand and walk on concrete and blacktop in my job for long periods of time. Additionally, I like the fact that while insulated, the insulation is not so thick that my feet get too hot in the summer, since I can only afford one pair of boots for the year-round, as well as simply allowing me to wear heavier socks in the winter.

Realfoot was also willing to pay for a minor stitching unraveling repair on one of the uppers in the United States, provided I sent a pic of the bill to them, which is outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, I was not able to afford the repair before the above mentioned issues occurred, but it is nice to know they were willing to trust me enough to pay for the repair, boots physically unseen.

As much as I love the fit and comfort for my health issues, I will not risk purchasing the boots again at this time, since other boots that I have had in the past have held up for several years under constant daily use. If Realfoot would reinforce the seam between the soles and the uppers so that they do not tear away from soles, reinforce the stitching between the soles and uppers so that the stitching does not unravel, and make the seam between the soles and the uppers waterproof, I would look into purchasing them again.

The shoes look very nice and of high quality, but to really try them out, they will have to be smaller than the current 14 degrees. So for now just for the visual page - 5 stars. I am not able to evaluate the rest.

The shoes are excellent, I have had the yellow version for a year. The width is absolutely unbeatable, at first I was worried that the leather seemed quite thin, but if they are treated well, they won't get wet. The only thing I plead for is better outsole tread. Now in the winter, it really kills me and it also makes my pedals slip in the car. If this can be improved I will not buy anything else. It would also be great if you could get insoles with sheep's wool directly inside realfoot.

I'm so glad to have handcrafted barefoot boots. So comfortable from the very first moment, warm and pretty waterproof on wet grass. I love they get dry faster than other same kind of shoes and their lightweight. Hope this company can still manufacture those high quality shoes for a long time.

I love these shoes. They are the only winter-wearable shoes that actually fit my fan-shaped foot. They're super comfortable, look good and seem durable. I've worn them for two winters through snow and ice and they still look like new. (After cleaning x)). I already have another pair waiting, so I don't ever need to go a day without.

They are by far the most comfortable barefoot shoes I've had. For me, they will probably be more autumn / spring than winter, but I am excited about them. They certainly won't be the only shoes from you.

The size is fine in terms of length, just a little tighter over the instep when putting on shoes, maybe it will fit and loosen a little. Otherwise satisfaction.

So far only tested, but according to first impressions, complete satisfaction. Fits beautifully, comfortable fit, size according to the table corresponds. Perfect as any from Realfoot.

An update to my original review, repeated below, of the grey farmer winter boots; I've now covered almost 700 miles (Fitbit tracker) and have now bought these light browns. The soles still show no sign of wear, across mixed terrain but mostly off-road gravel, tarmac and rock. They are at least as durable as Vibram soles so far. The leather has become even more supple and my initial hesitation over the plastic boot lace hooks was unfounded, they work perfectly. The compromise of grip over feedback through the sole is spot on. The brown farmer boots have a distressed out-of-the-box look. I tried various leather treatments on a hidden area but all turned the leather to one darker color. The one that retains the original appearance is Collonil Carbon Pro spray.

Excellent Farmer boots. I've been barefoot for 24 years and have wide feet as a result. From past experience I'm always skeptical with new footwear but I went ahead and bought a pair of Realfoot boots online early in 2025 to see how they fit and perform, in truth I wasn't expecting much. I must have tried and tested well over twenty different barefoot brands over the years from Finland, USA, UK, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and so on with many disappointments along the way. The materials and workmanship in these Farmer boots are way beyond my expectations. The fit is perfect, the toe box extraordinary, they're supple, so flexible and they're true to size, I am usually a UK 10/EU 44 and these fit perfectly like a soft glove. I've covered over two hundred miles already across mixed terrain with no sign of wear to the soles. They're grippy on wet ground with enough feedback through the sole. I am so impressed and look forward to trying others Realfoot's in the range. I am an exceptionally happy customer. Realfoot have become my footwear of choice.

I am still very satisfied with the shoes, they are incredibly comfortable and light, warm. I was also pleasantly surprised by the approach of the e-shop - I was buying from Slovakia and there were some technical problems with the payment, the store subsequently solved it with an additional discount and the shoes were sent to me quickly by express, the next day after communicating the problem I had them at home. The only thing I can "complain" about is that the shoes are more difficult to put on, it is necessary to significantly loosen the laces when putting them on. But that's understandable given the cut, and I'm happy to forgive them 😉

They are beautiful, very comfortable, the material and workmanship look very good, I am glad that they are also sewn and not just glued, because I have had a bad experience only with glued soles for bearfoot shoes. the only thing I could criticize a little are the plastic hooks and lacing, but I rely on the fact that it is strong and high-quality plastic that will not break during use

they are very comfortable and warm. The disadvantage is that they are difficult to remove and you need a chair for that :)
